Longing, for Home

Home is your horizon, your never-failing line

steadying resolve

as only horizontal can do.

Home is where your heartbeat is

that place of best intentions,

sturdy resolutions and emotionalities.

Home is a hearth full of warmth,

stories and camaraderie,

a comfortable bed to sleep on

for rest and reclamation,

as only horizontal can do.

Home is your horizon, your never-failing lifeline

toward steady-state stability:

no matter how imbalanced life becomes,

every angle points toward the Sun,

the master of the horizon.

Follow the Sun, the clockwork emperor

of warmth and resolution,

for home is the heart,

the heat and the light.

Though we look to the horizon,

though we search sometimes for home,

we carry the imperative within us,

for everything truly valuable is unseen.

Being at home is being in tune with

ourselves; holding our hearts and heads

and hands in harmony for the future.

Home contains OM, the sacred sound—

why else invoke such a mantra,

such a centering resolution than

to bring oneself back home?

We have a home here under the sky-vault,

in the dust and color and wind,

a home where we may

temporarily feel ourselves in chaos.

And we have a greater Home

amongst the stars,

the one where we came from,

the Home we feel when

we look out past the sun,

in toward origination.
