Uplift Walk

​

Go on an Uplift Walk,

that would be my way.

Others may stomp around

or trounce heavy-footed down the trail.

I would choose

to go on an Uplift Walk.

​

It begins with altering your stride,

stepping light-footed with buoyancy

and a smile throughout the whole of you.

Then a deep sigh,

a gentle slowness and calm as you proceed,

opening your awareness to nature

and the unseen worlds

(humming or whistling optional).

​

Cherish this walk, for

there is Hope in the colors of a flower,

Uplift in the quiet sounds on the breeze,

Exhilaration in the shade of a tree,

Elation in the smoothness of a stone

to brighten and raise your spirits.

They are there

waiting to be seen and appreciated.
