Why Are We Here?

In the following article, Jean Ebert proposes an exercise to begin to approach this simple yet profound question.
Why are we here?
Maybe you've asked yourself this question many times in your life. And maybe not. Whatever the case may be for you, here's an exercise that you might want to try.
Why are we here? Us. Human Beings. A species on a planet. It is quite a question to ask oneself. And to ask oneself without immediately trying to fill in an answer. If you want, try it yourself.
Why are we humans actually here? Do we have a purpose? And then let the questions just be there. Try to go about your day and once in a while check in and see if anything occurs to you. And then ask again. Why are we humans actually here? Do we have a purpose?
You might try writing the questions down as well as speaking them out loud. Or you might choose to sing them to yourself or speak them very, very fast or very, very slowly. You might consider a comparison study by looking around you, at other human beings, animal life, plant life and so on.
Try experimenting with how you ask. It is in the willingness to try and be open to something new that is important. You may be surprised at what happens.
It may take some time or something may occur right away. There is no right or wrong with this.
The purpose of the exercise is for you to begin to tune in to the many intelligences that are available to you and are there to help you understand why human beings are here and what our purpose may be.
There is so very much more that goes with this but this is a starter. Perhaps, if you stick with it for a week or so, you may just find out something that you have been wondering about in some way or other for a long time.
What did you think?
